FAYETTE COUNTY — Bail has been set at $250,000 for a 43-year-old Brownstown man charged in Fayette County Court this morning with multiple meth-related charges.

Travis Metzger was arrested after a parole check at his home revealed nearly 400 grams of methamphetamine in its liquid manufacturing form.

Metzger has been charged with two Class X felonies for aggravated delivery of more than 100 grams of meth in a protected structure or vehicle and possession of between 100 and 400 grams of meth, as well as Class 2 felony possession of meth manufacturing material.

According to Fayette County State’s Attorney Joshua Morrison, because Metzger’s home had surveillance cameras pointing at the house and at his car, that Class X charge is enhanced and is punishable by between 10 and 50 years in prison, rather than 6 and 30 years.

At the time of his arrest Wednesday, Metzger was on parole after serving about a year and-a-half of a three year sentence stemming from a 2013 conviction for felony possession of meth. Metzger was also sentenced in 2009 in two separate cases to 6 and 5 years concurrently for meth-related crimes.

His bail has been set at $250,000 and IDOC has been notified.
