MARION COUNTY — A Centralia man who will turn 37-years-old tomorrow was sentenced today in Marion County Court to 8-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to a burglary charge.

Danny Korzenewski was arrested and charged in June with Class 2 felony residential burglary and Class 3 felony being a felon in possession of a firearm. In exchange for Korzenewski’s guilty plea to the burglary charge, the weapons charge was dismissed.
In addition to the 8-year prison term, he will have to serve 2-years mandatory supervised release and testify truthfully against any co-defendants.
A registered sexual predator, Korzenewski is currently considered non-compliant with the registry, which says he has failed to maintain accurate registration records as required by law.
