MARION — A 25-year-old Johnston City man was arrested early this morning following an armed robbery and short pursuit that revealed an infant inside the suspect’s vehicle.

Callie Buchanan, Jr., has been arrested for robbery, fleeing/eluding police and endangering the health/life of a child.

According to the Marion Police Department, they received a 911 call around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, reporting an armed robbery in progress at the Circle K Gas Station located on North Carbon Street in Marion.

Buchanan’s vehicle was reportedly identified and located a short time later, which resulted in a brief vehicle pursuit that ended in the Johnston City area.

Buchanan allegedly fled the vehicle on foot and was immediately apprehended and taken into police custody.

As officers approached the Buchanan’s vehicle they reportedly found an infant had been left inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

At this time, no additional information is available as this is an open investigation.
