WASHINGTON COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Washington County on Interstate 64 resulted in several people being taken to the hospital.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at around 2:10 a.m. on I-64 westbound near the 54-mile marker.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Freightliner semi driven by James Dotson Jr. of St. Louis sideswiped a van driven by Diego Miller of Washington, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway and overturn in the median.
Two passengers in the van, Warlly Soars of New Jersey and Warley Santiago of Brazil, as well as both drivers, were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. Dotson was also cited for improper lane usage.
