SANDOVAL — More than 85 people attended Friday’s North Egyptian Quail Forever Youth Pollinator Event at the Sandoval Colonial Golf Course.

The event rotated four groups of students through presentations from U of I Ag extension center and monarch butterfly expert educating participants on pollinators, an educational game on predator-prey by Pheasants/Quail Forever Outreach Coordinator, and the planting of seeds with a Quail Forever biologist along an acre plot that will grow native plants beneficial to our natural pollinators.

Students from the Sandoval Sixth Grade, Sandoval High School FFA, attended the event that was hosted by the Sandoval Colonial Golf Course, North Egyptian Quail Forever chapter, IL Quail Forever staff, U of I Ag Extension Marion County.

The presentation and projects were followed by lunch and desserts provided by the golf course. Students and teachers were provided blaze orange T-shirts with the Quail Forever logo for participating in the event.
