FAYETTE COUNTY — A 46-year-old Shobonier man is being sought by law enforcement after he allegedly fled from a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy Monday night in Vernon.

Lonnie J. Whipple Jr., was reportedly driving on U.S. Route 51 around 6:51 p.m. Monday when the deputy attempted to stop him just south of Shobonier.
Whipple reportedly fled from the stop, ultimately stopping the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
Marion and Fayette county authorities searched the area for Whipple Monday night but were unable to locate him.
He’s wanted for alleged aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving while license revoked, and speeding.
