According to Mt. Vernon Police Chief Trent Page, Jesse Taylor was arrested after an officer noticed Taylor speeding and driving recklessly near the basketball courts at Veterans Park.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and after reportedly detecting an odor of cannabis conducted a search of the vehicle.

Page says cocaine and cannabis were found in the vehicle along with cash, and Taylor was taken into custody. He was cited for reckless driving due to children and people present in the park, speeding, and failure to signal.

Taylor was formally charged in Jefferson County court Monday with Class X felony manufacture with the intent to deliver between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine and Class f felony manufacture with the intent to deliver between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis
