CENTRALIA — The City of Centralia will offer city residents free disposal of undecorated, non-artificial Christmas trees starting Monday, December 31st.

Centralia residents may drop off Christmas trees at the Public Works Office located at 115 East 5th Street from eight am to three pm Monday through Friday.  The drop off service will be available for three weeks, on the dates of December 31st through January 18th.

Residents are asked to remove all ornaments, lights, and tinsel prior to disposal.  The trees will be used for fish habitat in the city’s lakes.

A sad goodbye today, to a local business that opened its doors in 2011 to help people celebrate life.

Roundhouse Wine Company closed shuttered their business Sunday. A notice on Facebook gave the sad news.

Best wishes and thanks go out to owners Jerry and Sheila Kapes as they start a new year and a new path.
