CENTRALIA — Starting Monday, February 4, 2019, the Centralia Fire and Police Commission is taking applications for Police Officer.

Police Chief Brian Atchison says he would like to see a large pool of qualified applicants test for the two open positions of Probationary Police Officer within the Centralia Police Department.

Applicants must be 21-years-old at the time of appointment, age 35 or younger unless proof of employment as a full-time police officer or an auxiliary police officer for a minimum of 5 years and under the age of 40.

Applicants must also be a high school graduate or have a GED, and be a U.S. citizen. Additional restrictions will be discussed at an orientation meeting.

Applications may be picked up at the Centralia City Clerk’s Office at 101 South Locust, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All applications must be returned to the same location no later than 4 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019.

You may also download application packets online at cityofcentralia.org. All forms must be printed and returned by the March 22 deadline. No online submissions will be accepted.

A mandatory orientation meeting, physical ability test, and written test will all be held starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Centralia Police Department at 222 South Poplar Street.
