CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago-based organization is seeking nominations for awards honoring people and programs in the state that show a commitment to historic preservation.

Landmarks Illinois, a nonprofit organization, is taking applications through June 15 for its annual awards program. There are nine awards, including for advocacy and leadership, which will be given at a celebration event planned for October.

Nominations can be made online. Winners will also get $1,000 a piece.  The projects must be located in Illinois and completed within the last five years.
