CENTRALIA — A 33-year-old Centralia man is in the Clinton County Jail following his Thursday arrest by Centralia police that ended with a foot pursuit and seizure of one-pound methamphetamine.

According to police reports, a Centralia police officer noticed Jacob Williamson driving on West Broadway near the Fairview Shopping Center, and knowing Williamson’s driver’s license was revoked the officer attempted a traffic stop.
Williamson instead sped away from the scene, with the vehicle pursuit ending at Fourth and Beech where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Williamson was quickly apprehended but not before he threw a package containing one pound of meth into the backyard of a home.
Investigators ultimately found $6,000 cash and an additional 2.5 ounces of meth and packaging materials in the vehicle, along with a small amount of heroin.
Williamson was taken to the Clinton County Jail where he awaits the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
