WALNUT HILL — Sally May Kapp, 86, of Walnut Hill, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at her home.

She

was born on January 22, 1936, in Minnesota, the daughter of Edward Ware and Margaret (Cameron) Ware. She married Kenneth Kapp on June 2, 1954, in Highland, Illinois.

In addition to her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Kapp of Walnut Hill, she is also survived by her five children: Karen Richardson and husband Donald of Centralia, Debbie Bloemker and husband Steve of Madison, Alabama, LeAnn West and husband Joe of Mattoon, Roger Kapp and wife Tammy of Dix and Eric Kapp and wife Traci of Walnut Hill;

daughter-in-law: Tammy Kapp of Belleville; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister: Kay Jansen of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law: Maureen Kapp of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver: Brenda Woodrome of Centralia.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Margaret Ware, son: Bruce Kapp, four sisters: Helen Balster, Margaret Goodall, June Middleton, and Bonnie Schmerbauch, a brother: Edward Ware; brothers-in-law: David Kapp and Wayne Kapp and wife Gayle.

Sally was a homemaker. She was a past Brownie Leader. She enjoyed traveling and camping, she was also a member of the Raccoon Rambler Camping Club. She had a passion for listening to music and dancing. Sally was very strong in her Christian Faith. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Sally Kapp will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SSM Hospice-Alzheimer’s Division and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Kapp Family.
