CENTRALIA — Gary D. Waddell, 55, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia surrounded by his family.

Gary was born February 14, 1967, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Clyde Waddell and Barbara (Cross) Owens. He married Julie Stein in 1997 and she survives him in Centralia.

In addition to his wife Julie Waddell, he is survived by five children: Amber Waddell and Jacob Swartz of Centralia, Mallory Bryan and Keith Clark of Sandoval, Bryce Waddell and wife Brandi of Centralia, Layla Waddell and Jonathan Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Dakota Waddell of Centralia; three grandchildren: Aiden Wooters, Noah Bryan, and Journey Bryan; three siblings: Marjorie Brown of Salem, Nellie Waddell of Seattle, WA, and Jerry Waddell and wife Stacey of Ina; also surviving is several nieces and nephews and four-legged companions: Hugo and Lilly.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde Waddell and Barbara Owens and two sisters: Beverly Reichman and Laura Waddell.

Per Gary’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
