SALEM — Marla (King) Chapman, 67, of Salem, Illinois passed away December 7, 2022, at Linda E. White Hospice House, Evansville, Indiana.

Born January 21, 1955, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, she was the daughter of Jack and Florence (Shaffer) King.

Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Wednesday at Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home in Salem, followed by a graveside service at Lovell’s Grove – 1880 Cemetery, Omega, Illinois. Rev. Denise Burke will officiate. The family suggests memorials be made to Lovell’s Grove – 1880 Cemetery and will be received by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Marla had a career in food service. She was manager of the Salem McDonalds for 10 years. She also served as dietary manager of nursing homes in the local area. She enjoyed attending flea markets and was a collector of Fenton glass.

She married Terry Chapman in Gatlinburg, TN and he survives in Salem, along with their children, Christy Alling (Brandon) of Shumway, IL, Amanda Wilson (Steve) of Owensboro, KY and Jeremy Chapman of Salem, IL along with 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Kimberly Mercier.
