Nettie Louise Rudd, 70, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:22 pm December 30, 2022 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born January 23, 1952 in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Miles and Nettie (Bronner) Porter. Nettie married Howard Rudd and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Nettie is survived by her children, Lavonda Porter, Deshauncey Rudd, Nikia Hollenkamp Rudd and special friend, Donovan Williams; bonus child, Nicole Hollenkamp Thomas; step children, Howard Rudd “Jobi”, Tomika Rudd “Bird”, Antonyo Rudd “Pharaoh”; grandchildren, KaMiyah Hawthorne, KaMijah Hawthorne, KaMicah Porter, Daeshaun Rudd, Daemarion Rudd, Kellin Edwards, Jr, Nivia Williams, Nalani Williams, Letia Hollenkamp, and Cole Hollenkamp; great-grandchildren, Azaaron Gladney, Tiani Hollenkamp, August “AJ” Harris, and Kamari Hollenkamp; and brother, Richard Porter, Sr. and wife, Dorothy.

In addition to her parents, Nettie was preceded in death by her siblings, Benjamin Hill and Eddie Hill “Paco”.

Mrs. Rudd worked at Prudential Insurance for over thirty years and Social Security Administration for twelve years.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am with Reverend Claude Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
