CENTRALIA — Marie Fern Kuester, 99, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at Centralia Manor.

Marie was born February 13, 1923, in Centralia to Mark Davis and Mae (Adams) Davis. She married Roy Kuester on January 2, 1943, and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1991.

Marie is survived by her grandchildren Julie Wiley and husband Tony of Centralia, and Wade and wife Amanda Kuester of Greenville, Il; great-grandchildren Jordan Wiley of Centralia, and Halyn Kuester of Greenville; daughter-in-law Terri Rogers of Centralia; several nieces and nephews, and special friend/caregiver Lou Brink of Centralia.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Mark Davis and Mae (Adams) Davis, son Roy Kuester, Jr., great granddaughter Abigail Kuester, brother and sister-in-law Lawrence Kuester and Kay Kuester.

Marie was a long-time member of the Zion United Church of Christ, was a former Sunday School Teacher, and was a part of the Ladies Guild at church. She enjoyed traveling and lived in a Florida vacation home for many years. She enjoyed cruises to travel, playing slot machines, and playing bingo.

Marie’s family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Centralia Manor and Mederi Home Health for taking care of Marie. The staff’s efforts are greatly appreciated by the family.

A visitation for Marie Fern Kuester will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2022, at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Service to follow at 11 a.m.
