CENTRALIA — Patricia M. (Owen) Evans, 83, passed away Thursday, February 23rd at the Centralia Manor.

She was born on August 2, 1939, in Boston, Massachusetts the daughter of Frederick and Mary Martha (Hurley) Owen. She married Larry Evans from Centralia while he was stationed in Boston with the Marine Corps on March 31, 1962. He preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by her four children and their families. Larry and wife Aimee Evans of Centralia, Jennifer and husband Chris Cahill of New Athens, Thomas and wife Chrissy Evans of Centralia, and Andrew Evans also from Centralia. Six grandchildren Alyssa Thomas and husband Collin, Taylor Evans and Kyle Sutton, Bailey Nehrt and husband Blake, Damon Evans, Cayden, and Landen Cahill, and great-grandson Maxwell Thomas.

Patricia was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Larry Evans, a great-grandson Luke Maxwell Thomas, as well as her Aunt Elizabeth Clements who played a very important role in helping to raise her as a child. She had two half brothers Thomas McIntosh and William Ross, all from Boston.

As a career military wife, she enjoyed traveling extensively. She loved that she had visited all 50 states and for a while lived in Germany during his time in service. She was very proud to be a devoted military wife raising four children and working part-time at a variety of duty stations. Throughout her life, she loved to sew, and quilt and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Funeral services for Patricia M. Evans will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Monsignor David Darin officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to the time of service on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Funeral Home.
