FARINA — Zola Marie Robnett Blomberg, 93, of Farina, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Zola was born on May 26, 1929, in Kinmundy, IL, to Pleasant Frank Robnett and Lura Williams Robnett. She graduated from Kinmundy High School in 1947 and received a degree in Home Economics Education from the University of Illinois in 1957. She married Charles E. Blomberg on November 17, 1957, at Kinmundy. She and Charles have been, for many years, co-owners of Farina Lumber and Altamont Lumber, with Zola serving as bookkeeper until her retirement in 2013. Zola was an avid gardener and loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and knit. She was a member of Farina United Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, financial secretary, and a volunteer at Homework Help.

Zola is survived by her husband, Charles E. Blomberg, and their children Ann Blomberg (Mark Sedlacek), Edward (Emily) Blomberg, Carla Blomberg, and frank (Leah) Blomberg, all of Farina, John (Jen) Blomberg of Woodbury, MN, 14 grandchildren, 4great-grandchildren, and her little dog, Buttons.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law Connie Robnett Luker of Cumming, GA, Karen Robnett of St. Peters, MO, Pat Blomberg and Colleen Blomberg of Kinmundy, IL, and brother-in-law Howard Voelker of Altamont, IL.

Zola was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Phillips, brothers Pleasant (Bud) Robnett, James Robnett, and Quentin Robnett, sisters-in-law Jean Young, June Curtis, and Helen Voelkerand brothers-in-law Howard Blomberg, Donald Blomberg, Robert Young and James Phillips, granddaughter Hope Sedlacek and great-granddaughter Lydia Sedlacek.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Farina United Methodist Church, 311 W. Jackson Ave., Farina, IL. A visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until the service hour.

Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, PO Box 97, 310 N Broadway, Salem, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Farina Volunteer Fire Department, Farina Food Pantry, Farina United Methodist Church, or the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the funeral home.
