EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Dorothy M. Boyles, 84, of Evansville, IN formerly of Salem, Illinois passed away April 28, 2023, at Evansville Protestant Home.

Born May 24, 1938, in Bloomfield, IL, she was the daughter of Teddy and Frances Anderson Kerley.

Dorothy united in marriage with Dale Gene Boyles on December 22, 1957, in Chauncey, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2017.

She was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem where she helped with serving funeral dinners and assisting with the church rummage sales. She was active in the American Red Cross and the Salem Township Hospital Auxiliary. She and Dale enjoyed dancing with the Salem Prominader’s Square-Dancing group. Dorothy was a former employee of Radiac Abrasives for 7 years and the Rubio-Aguilar Medical Clinic for 18 years. She loved to work outside gardening.

Survivors include her children Tim Boyles and wife Rene of Little Elm TX, Tom Boyles and wife Elvira of Katy, TX and Sandy Bell of Evansville, IN, along with grandchildren Karissa Brown and husband Mark, Christian Boyles and wife Ashley, Andrew Boyles and wife Kylen, Sarah Boyles, Alyssa Pfister and husband Brock, Elizabeth Bell, Matthew Bell, Eric Bell and fiancee Becca Winkel. Also her great-grandchildren Makayla, Parker, Wyatt, Emily, Kaiden, Dawson and Evelyn. Also left to mourn her passing are sisters-in-law Donna Kerley of Alma, IL and Wanda Kerley of Marquette Heights, IL, and brother-in-law Hoolie Muehlhausen of Oak Harbor, Washington and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter Ashley Boyles, son-in-law John Bell, brothers James and Robert Kerley and sister Clara Muehlhausen.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem with Rev. Christine Cunningham officiating. Visiting hours at the church will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
