SALEM — Marilyn (Hoskey) Carter, 69, of Salem, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born February 9, 1954, in Salem, the daughter of Marion Hoskey and Roma (Bryant) Hoskey.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Tonnie Pauley and wife Kim of Mt. Vernon, Jason Pauley and Melissa Skates of Salem, and Krystal Marcum and John Skurat of Centralia; nine grandchildren: Natasha, Tonnie Jr., Barbara, Mark, Jayla, Jaycob, Jayden, Sierra and husband Austin, and Trevor; nine great-grandchildren; a brother: Rick Hoskey and wife Jackie of Salem; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and the father of her children: Ronald Lee Pauley of Salem

She was preceded in death by her parents: Marion and Roma Hoskey and brothers Bob Hoskey, Jeff Hoskey, Nick Hoskey, and Greg Hoskey.

Marilyn was of the Christian Faith. She worked in retail for many years. Marilyn enjoyed visiting the ocean and gardening. She loved her family and cherished all the wonderful memories.

Per Marilyn’s request, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home at 310 North Broadway/ P.O.
