CENTRALIA — Louisa Mae (Castellari) Marcum, 98 of Centralia, gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

She was born to Antonio and Maria (Orlandini) Castellari on November 10, 1924, in Centralia, Ill.

She is survived by son, Jack Marcum of Centralia, Daughters, April and husband Bob Feig of Centralia, Annette Holloway of Farmington, MO and Son-in-law, Jay Harbin of Fernandina Beach, FL.

Grandchildren Cary Altadonna, Adam and Kristen Feig, Aaron and Teri Lynn Feig, Amber Feig, Jake Harbin, Seth and Vivian Harbin, Trevor Holloway, and Isabel Holloway. Great Grandchildren, Audrey, Preston, Sienna, and Ava Lynn.
As well as loving nieces, nephews, her church family, and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John H “Joe” Marcum and daughter Hope Harbin, her parents and nine siblings.

In earlier years Louisa was a member and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of St. Mary’s Altar Society. She also worked as a telephone operator at Illinois Bell. Louisa and her husband faithfully coordinated the coffee and donut gatherings at St. Mary Church for many years. They delivered Meals on Wheels well into their eighties stating that they needed to “take care of the elderly”. They were also Ambassadors at Kaskaskia College. Louisa worked the canteen for the American Red Cross Blood Drive for over 30 years.
Her greatest enjoyment in the last several years was receiving hugs from her special friends while walking at the Rec Center to whom she was known as”their inspiration”.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary Church in Centralia with Monsignor David Darin and Father Steve Pautler officiating. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. A visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church before the time of Mass.
