IUKA — Doris Marie Halfacre, 91, of Iuka, passed away at 10:25 a.m., Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Addington Place of Edwardsville, Illinois.

She was born October 9, 1931, in Ashkum, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Nellie (Matthews) Wilson.  On February 14, 1953, she married Joe Halfacre, and he preceded her on May 28, 2002.  She was a member of Donoho Prairie Christian Church, and was a graduate of Centralia Township High School.

Doris is survived by four sons, Bill Halfacre and wife Rhonda of Iuka, Jack Halfacre and wife Karen of St. Charles, Missouri, Wayne Halfacre and wife Vickie of Hillsboro, Illinois, and Steve Halfacre and wife Stefanie of Omaha, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Todd, Jonathan, Nicholas, and Caleb Halfacre, Paul and Jamie Halfacre, Darla Halfacre, Jennifer Carlson, and Zachary, Quinten, and Seth Halfacre; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bud Wilson and wife Mary of Atlanta, Georgia, Max Wilson and wife Shirley of Dix, and Butch Wilson and wife Angie of Dix; and sisters, Vada Tate of Kansas City, Sara Lou Bicknell of Mt. Vernon, Darlene Mulch of Mt. Vernon, and Jolene Wells of Mt. Vernon.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leon Wilson and Gene Wilson; and sisters, Rita Harlow, Vera Reece, Dorothy Bridgeman, Shirley Capps, and Beverly Byars.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Halfacre will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at Donoho Prairie Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.  Memorial gifts may be made to Donoho Prairie Cemetery, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
