CENTRALIA — David L. Davis, 69, of Centralia passed away on October 29th, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon Illinois. He was born on November 10th, 1953 to Louis Davis and Beverly (Hickenbottom) Davis. He married Cynthia “Cindy” (Taylor) Davis on June 15th, 2012, and she survives.

Along with his loving wife Cindy, he is survived by his daughters Sandy Davis and Tina Davis; step-sons Butch Crepes, Jason Schnur, and Jacob Schnur; step-daughter Maria Crepes; siblings Dennis Davis, Brenda Shindlebeck, Douglas Davis, Delmer Davis, Dwight Davis, Bonita Zamerski, Doyle Davis, Becky Askoorochi, and Barbie Lockwood; and 4 grandchildren.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Beverly.

David was a hard worker, and was proud of his almost 18 years with the Railroad. He was an avid fisherman, and didn’t care what fish he went for, as long as he got to spend time fishing. He was a passionate sports fan. He enjoyed watching football and loved watching Cardinals baseball with his wife and family.
Per David’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family (checks made payable to Cynthia Davis) and can be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia IL 62801, who is honored to be of service to the Davis family.
