CENTRALIA — John M. Braddy, 69, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Centralia Manor.

He was born June 8, 1954 in Walnut Hill, the son of Melvin Braddy and Ruby (Robinette) Braddy. He married Cheryl Snyder on May 18, 2002 in Belleville and she survives.

In addition to his wife of 21 years, Cheryl Braddy of Centralia, John is also survived by his children: Brittany Braddy and fiance Andrew Brink of Centralia, Cory Braddy of Centralia, and Shannon Marlow of Pacific, Missouri; two step-children: Amanda Lawson of Centralia and Charlie Johnson and wife Jennifer of Collinsville; three grandchildren: Skylar, Austin, and Raegan; four sisters: Cheryl Jane Dagg, Julie Tippit, Karen Page, and Nancy Crenshaw; sister-in-law: Linda Snyder of Granite City; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and two special cousins: Mary Adams and Ted of Troy and Theresa Overby of Belleville.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin & Ruby Braddy, son: Aaron Marlow, a brother: Richard Friend, three sisters: Kay Hawkey, Charlotte Burns, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Foutch, brother-in-law: Benjamin Snyder, and his four legged companion: Sultan.

John worked for Continental Tire for 30 plus years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. John was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing. John was a simple man and cherished the time he spent with his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Per the family’s request, anyone who attends the visitation or service, please wear your St. Louis Cardinal’s attire in John’s Honor.
