BONNIE — Ronald Dean Houseworth, 87, of Bonnie, Illinois, passed away at 12:48 am January 3, 2024 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

He was born December 7, 1936 in Spring Garden, Illinois to the late Ambrose and Blanche (Davenport) Houseworth. Ronald married Lora Jean (Edwards) Houseworth on October 12, 1955 in Spring Garden. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage before her passing on December 21, 2021.

Ronald is survived by his children, Renee Isom and husband, Jan of Mount Vernon, Lisa Walden and husband, Brian of Texico, Illinois, Rick Houseworth and wife, Toni of Belle Rive, Illinois, and Bradly Kent Houseworth of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Brittany Bechtel and fiancé, Cody Benjamin, April Morgan and husband, Billy, Ashley Houseworth, Jennifer Houseworth, Tiffani Holder and husband, Seth, Kyle Walden, Summer Thackrey, and Robert Thackrey; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Houseworth and wife, Robin of Blytheville, Arkansas and David Houseworth and wife, Sue of Mount Vernon; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Maggie.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ronald was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Autumn Thackrey Pittman; and brother, Bob Houseworth.

Ronald was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed. A Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois with Reverend Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow.
