MOUNT VERNON — Ada Virginia Hutchison, 105, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:49 am January 8, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was born December 30, 1918 in Dexter, Missouri to the late Horace Okley and Mary (Jackson) Green. Virginia married Charles “Bob” R. Hutchison on March 23, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with fifty-nine years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 25, 2005.

Virginia is survived by her sons, David Hutchison and wife, Carol of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Gary Hutchison of Valparaiso, Florida; grandchildren, Cari Simpson and husband, Marshal of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Lindsay Schroer of Evansville, Indiana, Mark Hutchison of Valparaiso, Florida, and Sarah Peavy and husband, Chris of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; great-grandchildren, Madison Shepard and boyfriend, Hayden DuBach, Camdin Simpson, Angel Stewart, Elyon Schroer, Micaiah Schroer, Haddon Schroer, and Hazel Peavy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Helen Hutchison; grandson-in-law, Nathan Schroer; one brother; and three sisters.

Virginia was the oldest living member at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Private Family Services will be held. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Virginia’s honor to Central Christian Church.
