WASHINGTON COUNTY — The Washington County IL Zoning Board of Appeals is set to conduct a pivotal public hearing addressing the proposed community solar project by Nexamp.

The Special Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. February 8th, 2024, at the Nashville Illinois Middle School to ensure central accessibility for community members.

The revised Wind and Solar Energy ordinances can be accessed on the Washington County IL Zoning website, ensuring transparency and ease of reference to governing regulations.

This hearing is centered on Nexamp’s application for a Special Use Permit, allowing the construction and operation of the proposed Community Solar Farm.

This is a one-time opportunity for community members to voice their opinions, concerns, and questions regarding the project.

This public hearing serves as the exclusive opportunity for all interested individuals to express their views, either in favor or against the proposal.

On Tuesday, Governor JB Pritzker, Nexamp, and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced that Nexamp — the nation’s largest community solar provider — will locate its second national headquarters in Illinois.
