MOUNT VERNON — Donna Vergene Jennings, 86, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:49 pm January 22, 2024 Stonebridge Memory Center in Mount Vernon. She was born December 22, 1937 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Ray Olin and Mary Aline (McCamment) Eubanks. Donna married  Leslie Myrle Jennings on September 21, 1957 in Granite City, Illinois. They were blessed with fifty-five years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 3, 2012.

Donna is survived by her son, David Jennings and wife, Brenda of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter, Melinda Reed and Brad Sledge of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Jennifer Morgan of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Kaelin Pierce and husband, Adam of Opdyke, Illinois, Blake Jennings and wife, Liz of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Alli Reed of Springfield, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Wade Pierce, Ty Pierce, Sawyer Cox, Weston Morgan, Kinley Morgan, and Elliott Jennings; sister-in-law, Glenda Eubanks of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin and Robert Eubanks, and Grandson In Law Rob Morgan.

Donna was a secretary for the City of Mount Vernon and worked at Dodds School. She was a member of Senior Circle, Casual Twenties, and Crossroad Stitchers. She also attended Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. Above all, Donna’s family meant the most to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11:30 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois with Pastor Brad Ryan officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Donna’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
