MOUNT VERNON — Kathleen A Moon, 84, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:55 am February 12, 2024, at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon.

She was born November 26, 1939 in Oak Park, Illinois to the late A. Clifford “Bugs” and Lillian Muriel (Diehm) Wilson.  Kathleen is survived by her children, Denielle Hughey and husband, Tom of Mount Vernon, Charlene Griffith and husband, Rick of Woodlawn, Illinois, Deana Offutt and husband, Blue of Surprise, Arizona, Kathy Nowlin and husband, Robert of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Harold Jarvis and wife, Kathy of O’Fallon, Missouri, Candy Hillyer and husband, Karl of Mount Vernon, David Jarvis and wife, Leslie of Arnold, Missouri, and Jennifer Moon of Charleston, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Josie King; and former husband, Richard Jarvis.  Kathleen worked at Sharps on 12th and Waltonville Road for 24 years and Big Lots for 11 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Kathleen will be deeply missed.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10:00 am with Pastor Allen Rudd officiating. Interment will follow at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, Illinois.
