WEST FRANKFORT – One passenger on a Greyhound bus was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly stabbing another passenger and setting a seat on fire as the bus was traveling southbound on Interstate 57 in Franklin County.

According to ISP, they responded to a vehicle fire involving a Greyhound bus around 4:15 Wednesday morning on southbound I-57 near milepost 62 in Franklin County.

One person was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The fire was extinguished and the remaining passengers were transported from the scene to a safe location.

Traffic in the area was down to a slow roll as nearly a dozen Illinois State Police troopers were on scene with the bus and passengers were out of the bus along with their luggage.
