MARION COUNTY — Marion County authorities have released the identity of the 71-year-old woman killed in an early Wednesday morning fire in her home in the 400 block of East Bennett Street in Salem.

According to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, Dollaine Wooley was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire that is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

According to initial reports, the fire call came in just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, indicating the backyard of the home was on fire.

Upon their arrival, however, firefighters found flames shooting from the back of the home. As they attempted to enter the home to search for Wooley, the ceiling began falling in and forced crews back outside.

Wooley’s body was ultimately discovered and the Marion County Coroner’s Office declared her dead at the scene.

Heat from the blaze ignited a backyard shed on the property and it was also destroyed.
