OKAWVILLE — A Washington County police chief was formally charged in court this week with domestic battery.

According to court records, 40-year-old Thomas Adam Hall was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery causing bodily harm in connection with incidents on February 22 and 23rd.

Charging documents say Hall allegedly grabbed a female by the wrists, pushed her against the wall, and then placed his forearm against her neck, leaving red marks.

Chief Hall was in custody Wednesday of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office where he was once employed.

He appeared in court where he was advised of the charges against him and the conditions of release.

Hall informed the court he would attempt to hire an attorney and a status hearing in the case was scheduled for April 16.
