MOUNT VERNON — Levon Jerek Rightnowar, 35, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:59 pm on March 31, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born October 7, 1988, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Michael Rightnowar and Peggy (Crunk) Rightnowar.

In addition to his parents, Levon is survived by his children, Paityn, Kynlie, Kayslie, Kolsyn, and Liam Rightnowar; sisters, Jessica Stephenson and husband, Daniel and Lindsay Rightnowar; grandparents, Bev and Larry Rightnowar and Linda Bruce; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and significant other, Melissa Dutton and son, Isaac.

Levon was preceded in death by his aunt, Debbie Rightnowar and great-uncle, Larry Martin.

Levon was a member of Long Prairie Missionary Baptist Church and frequently, attended Whittington Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially, loved spending time with his children. Anytime you saw Levon, he had a smile on his face and earned the nickname, “Smiley”. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Mr. Ed Foley officiating. Interment will follow at Mateer-Davis Cemetery in Bluford, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Levon’s honor to a college fund for his children in care of, Peggy Rightnowar.
