BLUFORD, Ill. — Vicki Dean Tercero, 70, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 8:16 am April 4, 2024 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon.

She was born February 3, 1954 in Mount Vernon to the late Earl and Doris (Pemberton) Volkert. Vicki married Miguel “Taco” Tercero on May 29, 1983. They were blessed with nearly 33 years of marriage before his passing on April 14, 2016.

Vicki is survived by her children, Miguel Christopher Tercero and wife, Adrienne of Jacksonville, Florida, Amanda Jewel Capps and husband, Matthew of Bluford, and Kyle Adam Tercero of Paducah, Kentucky; grandchildren, Ramon Tercero, Diego Tercero, Antonio Tercero, Makenna Toth, Aubrie Capps, and Skye Tercero; great-grandchild, Khai Belt; brother, Jerry Volkert and wife, Juanita of Bardstown, Kentucky; nephew, Jay Volkert and wife, Rebecca of Mackville, Kentucky; and great-nieces and nephews, Ryleigh Volkert, Chase Volkert, and Maddie Volkert.

Vicki worked at Southern Illinois Clinic and as a manager at Hucks for many years. Later in life, she dedicated her time to staying home and being a Mawmaw to her grandchildren. Vicki enjoyed being outside and tending to her garden, particularly her irises. She loved animals and cared deeply for her dogs. Vicki was a loving mother, Mawmaw, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and adored her.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm.
