MOUNT VERNON — Jimmy McPhail, beloved father, brother, and uncle, passed away on April 12, 2024, in Mt Vernon, Illinois. He was born on September 19, 1953, in Centralia, Illinois, to Ivan and Betty McPhail.

After a fulfilling career as an X-ray Technician, Jimmy retired and embraced his hobbies and leisure activities. He found great joy in the camaraderie of his best friend, Mark Williams, and cherished the companionship of his special friend, Alexis Weigel.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jesse McPhail, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Joe, and Jerry Mcphail , and his best girl, his sister, Judy Krietemeyer. He was also preceded by his wife, Ronna and his main man-his grandson, Tyler Maxfield.

A few words from his daughter- No formal services will be held. Instead I just want to leave you all with a few words dad left for me to share:
My favorite things:
golf, fishing, hunting,
my grandson-gone too soon,
the girl I fell in love with in high school,
the brother who loves his sister,
the footloose crazy uncle
a man of many hats,
and my daughter-be happy.
One final thought Jimmy left – let the good times roll.
