BOYD, IL — A barn was destroyed by fire Sunday in the Boyd area of northern Jefferson County. Crews arrived to find the structure on the Steven Vonburg property fully engulfed. The 40-by-60-foot barn and its contents including a tractor, mower, tools, and trailers were a total loss. The cause is unknown. The State Fire Marshal is investigating. Departments from Mt. Vernon, Woodlawn, Kell, and Centralia assisted.
