Sharon Miller, 83, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:53 am July 31, 2025 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born June 19, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana to the late George Joseph and Wilmetta Katherine (Reintz) Fischer. Sharon married Gerald “Jerry” Miller on February 23, 1963.

In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Sharon is survived by her sons, Gerald Miller, Jr. of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Steven Miller of Swansea, Illinois; daughter, Regina Miller Graddy of Jamestown, Indiana; grandchildren, Jacqueline Graddy and Laura Tovar and husband, Oscar; brothers, George “Buddy” Fischer and wife, Anne of Mount Vernon, Indiana, Rick Fischer and wife, Karen of Mount Vernon, Indiana, and Greg Fischer of Carmi, Illinois; sisters, Mary Jane Kight of Poseyville, Indiana, Fran Osborne of Mount Vernon, Indiana, Kathy Cox and husband, Bob of Poseyville, Indiana, and Lisa Seitz and husband, Darrin of Mount Vernon, Indiana; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Fischer of Newburgh, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Fischer and God daughter and niece, Johanna Tucker.

Mrs. Miller worked as a nurse for forty-five years until retiring and enjoyed spending time with the friends she made along the way. She was a member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. She loved her gardening, especially flower gardening. She grew iris’ and knew every iris’ common name and color.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Sharon’s honor to Cancer Society.
