Stephen C. Corsere, 74, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away at 10:27 pm August 22, 2025 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was born January 15, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Tony and Willa Mae (Wicks) Corsere. Stephen married Bonnie Kay (Royster) Corsere on November 24, 1972.

In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by his sons, Angelo Corsere and wife, Stephanie of Hillsboro, Illinois, Antonio Corsere and wife, Casey of Omaha, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sisters, Melissa Clark and husband, Richard of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Beckey Allison and husband, Rick of Westfield, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his in-laws, Franklin and Bonnie Royster; grandparents, Vito and Minnie Corsere and William and Etta Wicks.

For many years, Stephen worked for Elkay MFG building stainless steel sinks and proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was of the Methodist Faith.

A Visitation will be held Monday, September 1, 2025  from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Dave Knoblich officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 141 of Mount Vernon.
