MT. VERNON – United Way of South Central Illinois is proud to announce it has been awarded $10,000 through the Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores Region 2200 “Share the Love” program. This generous investment will directly support United Way’s work across Jefferson, Marion, and Washington counties.
“We are incredibly grateful to Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores for selecting United Way of South Central Illinois as a recipient of this funding,” said Natalie Shook, Executive Director of United Way of South Central Illinois. “This support will go a long way toward strengthening our programs and expanding our ability to meet real needs in our communities.”
The Share the Love program reflects Love’s commitment to giving back at the local level, empowering organizations that are making a measurable difference where people live and work. United Way was honored to participate in a recent check presentation with Love’s leadership and local store representatives.
Funds from this award will support United Way of South Central Illinois’ broad range of community initiatives, including:
- Early childhood and education programs, such as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and United Way Readers
- Food access and basic needs support, including Mobile Markets and the United We Give distribution program
- Community resource navigation, connecting individuals and families to critical services through 211
- Support for partner agencies working on housing stability, health, and financial security
