Howard Martin Hawley, age 95, of Salem, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Odin Health and Rehab Center in Odin, Illinois with his family by his side.

Howard was born on January 7, 1931, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Lloyd Howard Hawley and Emma Elizabeth (Skeens) Hawley. He lived a long and faithful life centered around his family, his work, and most importantly, his walk with the Lord.

On June 29, 1951, Howard married the love of his life, Nancy Darlene (Mobley) Hawley, in Centralia, Illinois. Side by side, they faithfully served the Lord together for more than forty years as youth leaders at the Salem Pentecostal Church, dedicating their lives to encouraging and guiding young people in the Christian faith. Their marriage was a testimony of steadfast commitment, humility, and Christ-centered love until Nancy’s passing on February 23, 2021.

Howard and Nancy also owned and operated Hawley’s Antiques and Furniture and Hawley’s Antenna Service in Salem for many years. Howard was known for his servant’s heart. He was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church in Centralia and loved the Lord with all his heart. He deeply cherished his family and treasured every moment spent together. Howard was also the last surviving member of the beloved Hawley Quartet, where he sang alongside his brother, Calvin, and his sisters, Inez and Wanda, sharing their love of music with many throughout the years.

Howard is survived by his children, Greg (Janeen) Hawley of Salem, Lloyd (Almayna) Hawley of Iuka, and Cheri (Paul) Polanski of Salem.
