JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 38-year-old Wood River woman was arrested Thursday morning after Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly discovered cash and synthetic drugs during a traffic stop.
Tessie Gibbs was one of the occupants of the vehicle stopped around 12:21 a.m. Gibbs was interviewed after more than $1,400 in loose cash, drug equipment, and a quantity of dangerous ALFA PVP synthetic drugs were allegedly found in the vehicle.
Gibbs was arrested for alleged with possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where she remains awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
According to the Sheriff’s office, deputies are following other leads with the information they obtained during the traffic stop and they expect that information will lead to more illegal drugs being taken off the street.
