MARION COUNTY — A 25-year-old Salem woman remains in the Marion County jail today following her arrest Thursday for allegedly harboring a fugitive.
Police had reportedly gone twice in January to Shanan Reed’s residence in the 100 block of West Locust Street in Salem looking for 21-year-old Dillon Fyke, of Sandoval.
Both times Reed reportedly told officers that Fyke was not in her home, which was allegedly not true and on the second visit they were able to confirm his presence in the home as he had received a phone call from a Marion County jail inmate.
Officers then returned to the home and arrested Fyke on an outstanding warrant and brought him in for questioning on a theft case. He posted $250 cash bond and was released.
Due to her alleged false statements to officers, a felony warrant had been issued for Reed’s arrest.
On Thursday an ambulance was dispatched to Reed’s home and after she refused treatment she was arrested and taken to the Marion County jail with bail set at $10,000.
