MARION COUNTY — A 36-year-old Mt. Vernon man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County court to 4-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jonathan Stuckey was arrested by Centralia police during a 2015 traffic stop for driving while license suspended or revoked.

During the stop, officers found a firearm in the vehicle and Stuckey was ultimately charged with Class 2 felony being a felon in possession of a firearm with a prior conviction.

In addition to the 4-year prison term, Stuckey will also have to serve 2-years mandatory supervised release following his prison sentence. He was given credit for two days served in jail and will be eligible for day-for-day good time credit.
