UPDATE 2X: An 83-year-old Ina man was found dead Wednesday in Rend Lake after a two-hour search.

According to The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the call came in around noon that the man was missing, and the sheriff launched a search that lasted about two hours.

Reports say the body was located in about 8 feet of water. It’s suspected the man fell in.

The man’s equipment was reportedly  located on rip rap next to the lake on the east side of Illinois Highway 37.

UPDATE: Authorities recovered a body Wednesday afternoon from Rend Lake. The victim’s name is not being released at this time.

FRANKLIN COUNTY — Multiple agencies have joined in an effort to locate a missing person on Rend Lake.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office the team is searching the area where Route 37 crosses the lake.

Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency and a dive team are also on site.
