CENTRALIA — An area woman is making a public plea on Facebook for information regarding a dog who bit her grandson Thursday at the Walmart parking lot in Centralia, and the Centralia police are asking the public for help on the case, as well.

Police say they’re trying to locate an aggressive dog and those who left with the dog after it attacked the woman’s grandson, a Walmart employee, on the east parking lot of the store Thursday night.

According to police, surveillance video shows the 18-year-old employee gathering carts, and with no provocation being attacked by the dog.

The person with the dog reportedly intervened to get the dog off the employee, and as the employee was being helped back to the store entrance, the person who assisted him ran back to the car and left with several others and the dog in a vehicle described as a tan or light colored station wagon.

The employee, who has not been identified by police, was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of his injuries.

Te woman reported her grandson had to undergo surgery and if the dog is not found the young man will have to endure a series of rabies shots.
