WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 2018 Washington County court case charging a 69-year-old Wamac man with child sex offenses appears ready for trial next week.

Henry Michael Wolenhaupt is facing two counts Class 1 criminal sexual assault of a family member under the age of 18 and three counts Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a family member under the age of 18.

For months following his arrest Wolenhaupt searched for an attorney to represent him in the case but the court ultimately appointed Dennis Hatch to represent him as a public defender.

A final pre-trial hearing in the case was held Friday when all final motions in the case and jury instructions were submitted. The case is now scheduled for a Tuesday, January 22, jury trial.

Wolenhaupt remains in the Washington County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
