The first arrest was made Thursday afternoon when Centralia police officers were called to a report of a domestic disturbance at Laura Leake Park in Centralia.
Officers subsequently located the male half of the reported incident in an alley between Poplar and the 800 block of Elm Street. They discovered that 57-year-old Michael Lawson was wanted on an outstanding Marion County warrant.
According to Police Chief Brian Atchison, a search of Lawson after he was placed into custody on the warrant revealed two glass pipes and six baggies of a crystal substance that field tested positive as meth.
The total weight of the baggies was 60.2 grams and Lawson was additionally taken into custody on charges of possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, possession with the intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Friday morning he was formally charged in Marion County court with Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth.
The second arrest was made just after midnight Friday morning after two passengers ran from the scene of a traffic stop near Pine and Calumet despite officers commands to stop.
