FAYETTE COUNTY — Bail was set at $500,000 Wednesday for a 62-year-old Vandalia man charged in Fayette County Court with sexually assaulting a child

Lambert J. Roedl is charged with one count Class X felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13.

Roedl is accused of sexual penetration of a victim who is under the age of 13.

If he’s released on bond, Roedl is ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 17.

He’s next scheduled to appear in court September 15 for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
