Gregory Dale Scott, age 56, passed away May 8, 2025. He was born to Andy and Janet (Shelton) Scott on June 11, 1968. He graduated Mount Vernon Township High School in 1987. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1988, where he served for three years. He then served as a Corrections Officer for IDOC until his retirement.

Greg is survived by his mother, Janet; daughter, Baileigh Scott; sister, Jenniffer (Scott) Rogers; brother, Shawn (Hope) Scott; and several nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Andy and brother-in-law, Joe Fahrenholtz.

All those who knew Greg, know of his struggles for the last ten years. Many people suffer with addictions, please don’t see it as a weakness but as an opportunity to seek help. His family and friend will be remembering Greg for the frequent phone calls to those he cares about, his love for trucks and cars, his tall tales, jokester ways, and his faith.
