Sandra K. Hallett, age 75 of Kinmundy, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2025, at Helia Healthcare of Salem.

Sandra was born on February 15, 1950, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Weston Ray and Dorothy Haught. She married William J. “Bill” Hallett on June 24, 1987, in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2022.

Survivors include her children, Jae Hallett and wife Shamain of Georgia, Renee Barnes of Kinmundy, Jamie Claybaugh of Kinmundy, and John W. Claybaugh of Colorado; grandchildren, Weston, Christina, Liam, Chiara, Jenny, Patricia, and Kaylene; great granddaughters, Avainna and Natalie; a great grandson, Alexander, who Sandra and Bill raised from birth; and a brother, Denny Haught of Alma, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, a great granddaughter, Aribella; a sister, Carolyn Haught; and a brother, Ray Haught.

Sandra worked for many years as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. In her free time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, but most importantly she loved taking care of her great grandson.

Graveside services for Sandra K. Hallett will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 4:00p.m. at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kinmundy-Alma Fire Department or Shriner’s Hospital for Children and will be received at the funeral home.
